Delete a Service Offering?

How do you delete a service offering from a service?  See the attached, but it doesn't look like there is an ability to remove a service offering.

Thanks, Tevis

Hello Tevis,

You delete Service Offerings by accessing the client portal in TDAdmin, go to Service Catalog > Service Offerings, and you can delete any service offering there that is not associated with a project/request, ticket, or email monitor.

Hi Mark, that part I figured out. However, as the screen capture shows, I don't see a way to unassociated a service offering from a service. - Tevis Boulware Wed 7/13/22 3:16 PM
You don't. That tab can also track relationships with assets and you *can* remove those, but Service Offerings are not managed in that same way because without the Service to back them, what use is the Service Offering? It is a secondary version of a Service and can't become a Service itself. There's no Promote/Convert process to turn it into a Service itself, so you can't just remove it from the service in that interface. You have to do it from the TDAdmin interface. - Mark Sayers Wed 7/13/22 3:20 PM
The constraint that was keeping me from deleting the offering was that there are old tickets associated with the offering. I don't want to delete those tickets, so the best I can do is make the service offering inactive. - Tevis Boulware Wed 7/13/22 4:19 PM
You can reassociate those tickets to a different, more appropriate service offering. - Mark Sayers Wed 7/13/22 4:21 PM
I had thought about that, and for now, I am just seeing what can be done. It appears that service managers, technicians, and customers are used to the service catalog; just listing individual services and service offerings seems to confuse users. It is a bit interesting to me that when service offerings first came out, I was excited, and I thought service managers and customers would like them. However, I have that service managers or customers don't care for the service/service offering structure and am looking for a way to efficiently back out of their implementation. - Tevis Boulware Wed 7/13/22 4:56 PM
Unfortunately the only way to remove a service offering from a Service seems to be the interface in TDAdmin via fully deleting the service offering. - Mark Sayers Wed 7/13/22 5:00 PM
